  • Sequim High School FFA annual plant sale May 15-18 in the high school greenhouse.  Prices range from $1- $30.  Times are: May 15  3 - 6 p.m., May 16  9 a.m. - 6 p.m., May 17  9 a.m. - 6 p.m., May 18  10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

  • Car wash on Sat., May 18 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Sequim QFC parking lot .  Proceeds go to benefit the safe and sober, all-night Sequim senior graduation party being planned and organized by parents. Cost is by donation.  (The graduation party is not a school-sponsored event.)

  • Helen Haller Elementary School and Sequim High School recently received awards from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for their efforts to close achievement gaps.  The Washington Achievement Awards, based on Washington’s School Achievement Index, recognize elementary, middle/junior high, high and comprehensive schools.  Schools are awarded using performance from 2010-2012 on statewide assessments in reading, writing, math and science as well as on graduation rates.  For more information, go to OSPI’s website at http://www.k12.wa.us/ under 2012 Washington Achievement Awards, Closing Achievement Gaps.

  • KSQM 91.5 FM radio station is featuring Sequim Centennial Moments each weekday at 7:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.  History briefs from the 1960s about music, U.S. history and Sequim history are read by fifth grade students from Helen Haller and Greywolf Elementary schools during the month of May. Tune in and check it out!
